DEMC is
a fast growing healthcare group providing a wide range of
healthcare services for the community. The group is principally
involved in the development, management and operations of
healthcare institutions and facilities. DEMC is committed
to serve the healthcare needs of the community and to provide
the highest standard of healthcare, which is affordable to
the middle and upper middle-income brackets. DEMC constantly
envisions new services and requirements of the community we
serve. By doing so the community's needs are served. All in,
DEMC's formula is one that reaches out to the community by
providing value and quality in all its endeavors.
Speedminer DW & BPM was implemented
in DEMC on the 9th April 2004, after the medical centre
realized the need to have a centralized way to track public
health data, an improved process for retrieving healthcare
statistics and reports, and to provide users with dynamic
multidimensional analyses capabilities. Speedminer was implemented
in the IT, Finance and Accounts Department. TrakCare Hospital
Information System (TrakCare HIS) is shadowed into Speedminer
server in real time (data is updated every 2 seconds). This
enables real time reports to be produced on the fly for
key administrators. Even ad-hoc analysis has become easier
after the implementation of Speedminer DW & BPM. Hospital
revenues can be monitored on 'as is basis', without the
need of complex computation and hours of headache. Analysis
provides forecasting and trending that can cut costs and
target profitable lines of business in order to increase
patient care and operating margins. There is increasing
need for this type of information as cost pressures put
ever-increasing stress on health care organizations of all
types.
On the 14th of May 2007 Speed SMS
was implemented in DEMC. It took only 1 day to implement
Speed SMS in DEMC. The database size of 13G, was shadowed
over to the Speedminer server in real time (within 2 seconds).
Speed SMS is now used to send out appointment schedule to
DEMC patients. This has reduced the chances of patients
and doctors, missing datelines by almost 90%. Reminders
have been proven to increase appointment attendance and
that spells good health and better patient service. Doctors
have fewer open slots in their schedule and do not need
to reschedule missed appointments.
