The Genting Room Reservation Revamp Project is a project to upgrade and enhance Genting’s current room reservation booking system. The booking system is used mainly by the Genting’s agents and call centres to reserve across 14 Genting’s hotels and apartments in Malaysia. Previously, the current system, using Microsoft Dynamics CRM as a platform, does not support much of the Genting’s growing business logic and the business logics are separated between different existing systems. Hence, the upgraded reservation system built by us is able to cater these logics and integrate different sources of logic under one roof. Two new user interfaces have been built, which is Calendar View and Normal View. Calendar View is a simplified view which automates the selection of best rates for customers and help agents and call centres to reduce the time taken during a reservation scenario. On the other hand, Normal View is a detailed view, which customers can have more refined control on the booking that they want to make. Since both user interfaces are quite complex, plus limited customization options in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, custom pages have been developed to accommodate the requirements needed by Genting.
