Background

Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp, http://www.talentcorp.com.my ) is an agency under the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR). Its role is to support the ministry’s agenda and strategic plans relating to human capital; to attract, nurture and retain the expertise required by industries that drive the country’s economy.

TalentCorp develops and implements initiatives through partnerships with public and private sectors, with a focus on three main strategic Thrusts: Optimise Malaysia Talent, Attract and Facilitate Global Talent and Build Networks of Top Talent.

A variety of signature programmes implemented to meet the needs of various talent segments. These programmes include Critical Occupations Lists (MyCOL), National Structured Internship Program (MySIP), MyAsean Internship, Scholarship Talent Attarction and Retention (STAR), Career Comeback Program (CCP), Young Employable Students (YES!), mynext, MyHeart and others, aimed at increasing employment opportunities, providing real-work exposure, enhancing graduate employability, increasing women’s participation in the workforce, and supporting Malaysian Diaspora.

Business Intelligence Solutions

TalentCorp collected significant amount of data from its various programmes and initiatives. By developing an integrated business intelligence solution, TalentCorp will be able to fully optimize the data potential. Real-time data analytics and the ability to share across organization will lead to more informed decision-making, strategic planning, and collaboration.

TalentCorp has adopted Speedminer Enterprise System to develop an end-to-end data management and business intelligence system under a single platform. The system integrates data mining, analytics, and visualization tools to process and translate data into meaningful insights for planning, implementing, and improving TalentCorp’s initiatives. Highlights of the project are as follows:

  1. Integrate data from various sources and formats into a single analytics platform.
  2. Develop a web-based interactive dashboards suited to user needs.
  3. Provide real-time access to data analytics via systematic data loading and processing.
  4. Enhance control over data management processes for accuracy and reliability.
